Chiropractic is a profession that takes a hands-on, drug-free approach to health care focusing on disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system. The spine protects the spinal cord, which controls all communication throughout the body, therefore interference within this system effectively stops proper functioning of the body as a whole. Through the use of chiropractic adjustments, chiropractors have the ability to ensure your spine and vertebrae are properly moving through their normal range of motion, restoring communication between the brain and the body. Additionally, proper range of motion of joints throughout the extremities (arms and legs) is necessary for appropriate biomechanics. When the biomechanics are not right, then the body again cannot function properly as a whole unit. This is especially important for athletes, but affects everyone.
Chiropractors are able to examine, diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions, provide preventative care, as well as address nutritional and lifestyle issues. With the proper combination of adjustments/movement, exercise, and nutrition, the body can return to peak performance.

The Chiropractic Adjustment
The chiropractic adjustment is a procedure performed by the doctor in which a highly specific, controlled, and quick force is applied to a joint with an abnormal movement pattern. The purpose of an adjustment is to restore proper mobility to the joint(s) affected. The results of such a force allow for increased range of motion, decreased interference of the nervous system, decreased musculoskeletal pain, and decreased recovery time.
